2024 Fall Investment Banking Intern

Job Description: G-Side Capital Advisors (“GCA”), a national elite boutique investment banking firm, is headquartered in Boston, MA. The firm provides investment banking services to companies that require highly specialized and customized support concerning critical strategic business decisions including divestitures, mergers, acquisitions, restructurings, recapitalizations, ESOPs, fairness opinions, business valuations, and strategic alternatives reviews.

What can you expect

GCA’s lean deal team structure affords fall interns the opportunity to work closely with senior bankers on pitches and live deals. Senior bankers’ client solutions, advice, and ultimately their success, draws entirely on the integrity of our team members’ work. Tasks go well beyond performing fundamental analysis and research into companies and markets. You are expected to understand the market implications, identify key industry and company trends, and provide key insight. Fall Interns add value to the team from day one. They are expected to think creatively and pursue their projects with excellence, a collaborative spirit, and with the highest levels of integrity.

Fall Intern responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Performing financial valuation, discounted cash flow and multiples-based analyses
  • Building and using financial models
  • Preparing pitch books and live deal materials, such as offering memorandums and prospectuses
  • Conducting industry and company research
  • Analyzing detailed corporate and financial information
  • Participating in the execution of M&A transactions

What we look for in a candidate

We look for candidates who are eager to make an impact by doing real, hands-on work and participate on active deal teams. Successful Fall Interns will be able to multitask and manage a variety of projects simultaneously. Candidates must demonstrate professionalism and client management skills together with strong technical, written, and verbal communication skills. The work is fast paced, intense, and intellectually stimulating. The ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines, be adaptable, and work both independently and as part of a team are essential traits of a successful candidate. You should have a strong academic background and must be pursuing a four-year Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Although a background in accounting or finance is helpful, we hire interns who have studied a variety of disciplines.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a 4-year academic institution with an outstanding record (3.5 GPA minimum)
  • All students are encouraged to apply but Bachelor’s or Master’s students in a quantitative field, including Finance, Accounting, Economics, Econometrics, Applied Math and Statistics are preferred
  • Demonstrated research experience and proven ability with Microsoft Office products (Excel, PPT, etc.)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Can manage multiple priorities effectively; manages up and across to proactively keep others up-to-date on progress and challenges
  • A self-starter with a strong desire to learn alongside organizational and time management skills
  • Demonstrable passion for financial markets
